Titanfall 2 – Teaser Trailer Analysis

Today, EA has revealed the first teaser trailer for Titanfall 2, confirming it will launch on PS4, XB1, and PC. After an incredibly successful debut for the series, Titanfall 2’s development was unceremoniously confirmed to IGN in March of last year. Since then, the project has been mentioned in multiple conference calls surrounding EA’s financial results. Today’s trailer, however, gives us our first actual look at the game. So what can we take away from it? Two things…

It seems that the game’s campaign is likely to revolve around a character we got to know a little about in the first game…James MacAllan. Although the voice-over in this teaser doesn’t appear to be a match for MacAllan, we do get a sneak peak at the name on the drop-pod that’s smoking in the image to the right. If you look closely on the left side of the door, you can see that it reads “MCS JAMES MACALLAN.” I wouldn’t say there’s enough information to declare him the game’s protagonist just yet, but it would be great to see a more fleshed out narrative that revolves around MacAllan’s desertion from the IMC and his subsequent enlistment in the Frontier Militia.

The second (more obvious) thing of note is something that’s bound to get people excited for Titanfall 2’s gameplay…Titan Swords!

At the end of the trailer, we get confirmation that there will be a full reveal for Titanfall 2 on June 12, likely at EA’s Play convention. Are you exited for Titanfall 2? Let us know what you think of these reveals from the trailer in the comments!
