Sources have told MCV that Nintendo’s upcoming NX platform is slated to have a “dream” lineup during the launch window. In the first six months, we should see the already announced The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in addition to a new Mario game and a Pokémon title by GameFreak. With three of Nintendo’s biggest franchises, the first party lineup will be well represented from the start on the new hybrid handheld concept.
In addition to a strong first-party presence, the company has also been solidifying its relationships with third party publishers for the NX with Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Activision and Warner Bros said to already be in talks to develop games for the platform. MCV’s sources also backed up the Eurogamer rumors from last week, declaring them to be “100 percent accurate.”
Although not formally revealed at this point, NX is currently set for a worldwide release in March 2017 with its reveal event rumored to take place next month.
