Video game movies have been around for decades now. With some huge successes out of the Tomb Raider, Need for Speed, and Resident Evil franchises as well as some notable box office flops like Super Mario Bros. and the more recent Ratchet & Clank, it’s hard to tell how well a new film is going to do early on. But, if there was one promising thing about Assassin’s Creed before its trailer dropped, it’s that Ubisoft’s own Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is the highest grossing video game adaptation of all time. Clearly they know how to successfully adapt their IP into film.
But can Assassin’s Creed live up to that same legacy?

Yesterday’s biggest news was obviously the reveal trailer and info blowout for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and the much anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. While the Black Ops games haven’t really grabbed my attention, nor was Infinity Ward’s Ghosts the game I was hoping for, I liked Advanced Warfare‘s future setting quite a bit. To that point, there are a few parts of the Infinite Warfare trailer that have me intrigued.

Today, EA has revealed the first teaser trailer for Titanfall 2, confirming it will launch on PS4, XB1, and PC. After an incredibly successful debut for the series, Titanfall 2’s development was unceremoniously confirmed to IGN in March of last year. Since then, the project has been mentioned in multiple conference calls surrounding EA’s financial results. Today’s trailer, however, gives us our first actual look at the game. So what can we take away from it? Two things…
